Quince de Mayo
This was a holiday that was made up by Erik, Mariza and Jim back in 2001. One of the things that Erik was well known for is making up games on the spot even if they made no sense whatsoever. However, this one made sense. Track season will often take up many weekends in April and May. However, the middle of May is usually free. Therefore, why not celebrate in Cinco de Mayo like fashion on ... QUINCE DE MAYO?!
There were many celebrations of Quince de Mayo this year in honor of Erik. Some had gatherings of a few people. Others simply toasted and remembered Erik. To all we hope that this can become a tradition with your family and friends as it has with ours.
